Not One Wholesome Word
Dec 31, 04 | 6:22 pm by John T. KennedyOn television and radio I have yet to hear one person utter a single decent or wholesome word about this “stingyness” crap.
It started when Jan Egeland, the United Nations emergency relief coordinator, complained that $15 million in relief from the U.S. was stingy. My initial reaction was that it was pretty offensive coming from a parasite. My second reaction, a heartbeat later, was that it’s far more offensive that George Bush and Colin Powell give my money to guys like this.
The next thing I hear is some numbskulled local talk show host agreeing with the U.N. official. He’s saying the U.S. should be doing “Whatever it takes”. Whatever it takes? Is this clown willing to live his own life that way? Of course not.
Then Powell and Bush are back on TV and they can’t give away my money fast enough. There’s more relief coming - much, much more. It’s just disgusting to see how easily my parasites are goaded by U.N. parasites.
On Fox News I see a couple of twits discussing private corporate relief efforts. The first twit impugns the motives of those offering private charity: “Aren’t they really doing this for private gain?” Of course you won’t hear him accuse politicians of giving away other people’s money for their own personal gain, though that’s precisely what’s happening right in front of him. Now the second twit gets into the act: “Are these companies really giving enough considering how much money they make?”
There’s no pleasing these monsters. God damn these twits, I want to see every one of them announce publicly how much they make and how much they’re donating to tsunami relief so we can all ruminate over whether they’re giving enough.
So today Colin Powell is playing kissy-face with Kofi Annan and promising $350 million now, and perhaps billions before all is said and done. A nitwitted Fox commentator opines that the U.N. official who called the U.S. stingy would probably like to eat his words now. Um, why? It kind of looks like he played a part in prying a few hundred million dollars from American taxpayers, money which may very well flow through his hands. Ouch! I guess he learned his lesson.
